Mr. James Matthew Lane, 45, of Oakfield, passed away Tuesday, July 17 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA, surrounded by his family after, an extended illness. A Memorial service will be held at Hall and Hall Funeral Home on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. Brother Earl Perry will officiate. Matt was born March 17, 1973 in Sylvester, GA, to the late James L. Lane and Wylene Ard Lane. He was a mechanic by trade and was employed by USMC Logistics Base in Albany. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army earning the rank of CPL. Matt also was a member of the RFMC (Remaining Few Motorcycle Club) and IHRA (Independent Harley Riders Association). He will be greatly missed by all his friends, and especially his family whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his wife, Martina Lane of Oakfield; his son and longtime girlfriend, James N. Lane and Faith Franks; his daughters, Laura Lane and Jessica Lane both of Oakfield, Alison Robinson and Ashley both of Albany; his five brothers and two sisters; and his service dog “Tink”. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the service hour of 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the RFMC Thomasville Chapter or the Albany Humane Society.
