Mrs. Lois M. Cox, 90, of Albany, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, after an extended illness. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 17, at 11:00 am in the sanctuary of The First Church of the Nazarene in Albany, GA with Rev. Steve Hood and Rev. Hilton Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery in Albany. Mrs. Cox was born in Worth County, GA to the late James R. and Eula James Barfield, on December 3, 1927. She was the loving wife of Charles Cox, Sr. for 73 years prior to his death in 2017. Mrs. Cox loved her family dearly and was known by all as a compassionate care giver to her family and others. She worked for over 40 years with Coats and Clarks even while raising her six children. Mrs. Cox was a faithful member of The First Church of the Nazarene, where she served her Lord and others with care and dedication. Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Cox is preceded in death by her daughter Charlotte Marie Cox. Survivors include her children: Charles B. Cox, Jr. and Sylvia of Albany; Mary Ann Blackmon of Albany, Charleen Rodgers and Bob of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Delores Levee and Andy Miller of Albany and Terry Malcolm and Steve of Arabi, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
