William Glenn Burroughs

Mr. William Glenn Burroughs, 60, of Dawson, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson. Rev. Matt Harrell will officiate. A native of Dawson, Mr. Burroughs was born on July 19, 1955 to the late Forrest and Eva Smith Burroughs. He was a hard working farmer for many years and an avid racer. He was of the Methodist Faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burroughs was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Whitfiled. Survivors include his son, Chris Burroughs of Dawson; daughter, Dawn Burroughs of Dawson; wife, Amy Burroughs of Richland; stepson, Ernest Thompson of Richland; step-daughter, Jesse Thompson of New Orleans, LA; grandson, Tristen Burroughs of Dawson; nephew, Clay Whitfield and niece, Lara Moore. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
