Adele Ellen (Turner) Cox

Mrs. Adele Ellen Cox, 78, of Albany, went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 31, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 3, 2013 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. John Townsend and Rev. Terry Sinyard will officiate with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Born June 10, 1934 in Cleveland, OH, Mrs. Cox was the daughter of the late Theron Edward Turner and the late Ada Allen Turner. She was a homemaker that enjoyed cooking and will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and wife. Mrs. Cox was a devoted member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and the Go Forth Sunday School Class. At the time of her death she was currently serving as the senior adult director of Sunnyside and had worked with the Georgia Baptist Association Disaster Relief. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Cox. Survivors include her sons, James Michael (Dale) Cox of Leesburg, Ricky Lee Cox of Crestview, FL. and Richard Keith (Tina) Cox of Niceville, FL; daughters, Donna Jean (Tommy) Milner of Kingsland, GA, Sharon Elaine (Michael) Fisher of Nashville, TN and Vicky Ann Willis of Albany; sister, Marcedes (Jack) Wimberly of Griffin; brother-in-law, Leonard Knight; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and church family. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service on Thursday at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to either Sunnyside Baptist Church 320 S. Mock Road Albany, GA. 31705 or Willson Hospice House 320 Foundation Lane Albany, GA. 31707.
