Alma Humphrey

Alma Foy Simpson Humphrey, 82, of Albany, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 18, 2009 in Albany. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery with the Reverend Jimmy Wease officiating. Alma Foy Simpson Humphrey was born April 16, 1927 in Pelham to the late Luther Lindsey Pearce and Ella Gandy Pearce. She retired from Flint River Textile and was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the Jolly Singers Choir and enjoyed serving in the kitchen during Vacation Bible School at the church. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. In addition to her parents her husband, James R. Humphrey and her grandson, Brian Christmas, preceded Mrs. Humphrey in death. Survivors include her four children, Roy Kelso Simpson, Jr. and wife, Jean Simpson of Albany, Linda S. Renew and her husband, James Renew of Worth County, Jerry Wayne Simpson and wife, Ann Simpson of Calhoun County, James William Simpson and wife Shirley Simpson of Americus; 7 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Hall and Hall Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.
