Alvin Dorsey Tanner

Mr. Alvin Dorsey Tanner, 67, of Worth County , passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Willson Hospice House. A service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Pastor Kenneth Thompson will officiate. Mr. Tanner was born on June 14, 1944 in Buford , GA. He worked many years as an electrician for J. B. Knight Company before becoming disabled. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church . Mr. Tanner was preceded in death by his father, Norman Lee Tanner and brothers, Mark, Ronnie, and Glenn Tanner. Survivors include his mother, Lossie Massey Carlton; his caregiver and his sister, Imogene and Bobby Harrah of Oakfield; sons, Dwayne and Sheryl Tanner of Okeechobee, FL, Keith and Kelly Tanner of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Sandra and Stacy Davis of Baker County, Cynthia and Mike Mobley of Lee County, Michelle Durham of Worth County, Santanna and Munuel Solis of Americus; brothers, Terry Tanner of Lee County and Toby Tanner of Albany; sisters in addition to Imogene, Jelaine and Jimmy Clark of Terrell County, Debra Tharpe of Worth County and Marsha Brooks of Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Polly Tanner of Colquitt County; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends one hour before service at Hall and Hall Funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions in memory of Mr. Tanner be made to Willson Hospice House, 320 Foundation Lane Albany , GA. 31707 .
