Barbara Jane (Ortagus) Wilder

Mrs. Barbara J. Wilder, 74, of Albany, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Wynfield Park Health and Rehab in Albany. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Sylvester. Rev. Joseph W. Jones will officiate and the family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Born September 13, 1940 in Jacksonville, Florida, Mrs. Wilder was the daughter of the late Thomas and Juanita Swope Ortagus. She was a member of Acree Baptist Church, the Golden Key Club and was one of the first investigators with the Albany Humane Society. She will be remembered as a loving homemaker that loved her family dearly. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilder was preceded in death by her son, Wayne William Thompson, Jr., her daughter, Sandra K. Imel and her grandson, Kaleb R. Andrews. Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Wilder of Albany; daughter, Debbie Andrews of Sylvester; son, Ricky Lawrence and his wife, Kim, of Leesburg and four grandchildren, Kristan Andrews, Natalie Lawrence, Melanie Lawrence and Lance Wiggins.
