Betty Appleby (Diehl) Huff

Mrs. Betty L. Appleby Huff, 84, of Albany, passed away, Sunday, September 22, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. Born April 9, 1929 in Duncansville, P.A., Mrs. Huff was the daughter of the late Frances Glen Diehl and the late Ethel Olga “Wilt” Diehl. She retired from civil service with the Marine Logistics Base of Albany. She was a member of Avalon United Methodist Church and a long time former member of Morningside United Methodist Church. She was a member of The Golden K Kiwanis, Gold Star Wives, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW, Missions on the move and Wesley Glen Auxiliary. She volunteered with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Golden Key Club. She was also affiliated with Whiz Kids and Habitat for Humanity. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Huff was preceded in death by her husband, Lon Huff and her first husband, Robert Appleby. Survivors include her sons, Michael W. Appleby of Maui, Hawaii and Robert G. Appleby of Buchanan, GA; daughter, Vikki L. Clark of Watkinsville, GA; brother, Gerald B. Diehl of Boalsburg, PA; sister, Joann R. Lovett of Altoona, PA; 4 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren; step-son, Jimmy Huff of Albany; step-daughters, Nancy Brimberry of Lee County and Lois Orgel of Albany; 7 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
