Betty Kathryn (Booth ) Whitmire

Mrs. Betty Kathryn Whitmire, 76, of Albany, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 2, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Morningside United Methodist Church, 121 S Mock Rd Albany, GA. 31705. Rev. Anna Miller will officiate. Interment will be at 12:00 Noon, Monday, February 8, 2016 at Andersonville National Cemetery. Born April 15, 1939 in West Virginia, Mrs. Whitmire was the daughter of the late Shelby Booth and Gertrude Anderson Booth. Mrs. Whitmire, along with her husband, Ira Gene Whitmire, has lived in Albany, GA for the past 47 years and have been devoted members of Morningside United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Mrs. Whitmire enjoyed spending time with her cats and sitting outside observing the sights and sounds of birds. Survivors include her husband, Ira Gene Whitmire; son, Scott Whitmire of Albany; 4 sisters and 1 brother; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitmire was preceded in death by her son, Mike Whitmire. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Hall and Hall Funeral Home was given the honor to serve the Whitmire family.
