Carl Lee Simpson

January 24, 1947 — September 13, 2011

Mr. Carl Lee Simpson, 64, of Baconton, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2011 in the Chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Jeff Apperson will officiate and military honors will follow the service. Born January 24, 1947 in Alexandria, VA, Mr. Simpson was the son of the late William Simpson, Sr. and Mary Jenkins Simpson. He served his country and retired from the United States Marine Corps. Having served three terms in the Vietnam Era, Mr. Simpson also received two purple hearts and a bronze star. He worked at the Marine Logistics base, was a member of the VFW, and loved fishing. Carl was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed working in his yard. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Martin Simpson; sons, Korey Simpson of TX; step-sons David Wilson of Baconton and Richard Wilson and his wife, Dr. Charity Wilson of Albany; daughters, Valerie Simpson of Leesburg, Carla Story of PA, Starr Simpson of PA, Ada Simpson of FL and Ashley Simpson of TX; brother, William Simpson, Jr. of VA and 10 grandchildren.
