Mr. Charles H. Akridge, 75, of Putney passed away April 18, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital A memorial service honoring Mr. Akridge will be held at a later date. Charles was born on January 25, 1944, in Pelham to the late Hugh Dorsey Akridge and Veda Willis Akridge. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Sergeant and later worked as a police officer for the city of Atlanta. Eventually he received his CDL license and was a truck driver on and off for many years. Charles was a hard worker and enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved rainy days and was known for leaving his door open to listen to the sound of the rain. A loving father, grandfather, and brother, he will be greatly missed by all. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Clayton Akridge. Survivors include his son, Chuck Akridge; grandsons, Brandon Akridge and Dakota Akridge; brother, Don Akridge; and three sisters, Brenda Leahy, Glenda Perry, and Sue Koberlein.
