Charles Stanley "Stan" Howard

December 5, 1955 — March 18, 2020

Mr. Charles Stanley "Stan" Howard, 64, of Baconton, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at his home. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Stan was born December 5, 1955, in Union City, Tennessee to the late Charles Howard and his mother Margaret Gurien. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Although the war was over by the time he was done with training Stan enlisted voluntarily during the Vietnam war. During his professional career Stan worked as an auto mechanic, truck driver, extractive metallurgist, and HVAC technician. He was skilled at many other things including carpentry and metal fabrication but could do just about anything he took an interest in. Hobbies included working on his award winning 1966 Chevy II Nova. Stan loved the outdoors. He was an expert marksman, hunter, and fisherman. Stan was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He would give you the shirt off of his back. His greatest love other than God was his family. He adored his wife, children, and grandchildren. Stan made friends wherever he went and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Most importantly Stan Howard was a Christian man. He was still using his life to witness for the Lord even a couple of days before his passing. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Tammy Howard. Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 43 years Elaine Howard; mother, Margaret Gurien; his children, Rita Goodson, John Howard (Jessica), and Brent Howard; 4 grandchildren, Brittany Meacham, Dylan Meacham, Luke Howard, and Liam Howard; sisters, Anna Howard, Jenny Denham, Teresa Koon; and several nieces and nephews. Hall & Hall Funeral Home was given the honor to serve the Howard family. Hall & Hall Funeral Home Albany, GA 229/883-3864
