Charlie Mae Wade Smith

Mrs. Charlie Mae Wade Smith, 85 of Sylvester, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, February 27, 2023.

A private celebration of life service will be held for the family only.

Born October 28, 1937, in Baker County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Wade and Retha Collins Wade. Mrs. Smith worked for many years at Macgregor Golf. In her free time, she loved doing word puzzles, fishing, and gardening when she was able. Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She will be greatly missed by all.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel R. Smith; her son, Daniel R. Smith, Jr.; grandchildren, Wes and Trey Sirmons; and her siblings, Ossie Jane Wade, Betty Coup, and Lynwood Wade.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Susan Bell and her husband Kenneth, Tammie Hiers, Lilly Sirmons and her husband Greg, and Chris Swope all of Sylvester; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Harbuck and her husband Frank of Webster County; and special nephew Benny Smith.
