Cheryl Sue Burns, 63, of Leesburg passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at her home. Memorial services honoring the life of Mrs. Burns were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 27, 2010 in the Chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Bruce Smith officiated. Mrs. Burns was born July 29, 1947 in Donaldsonville, GA to the late, William Emory Scarborough and Aldah Vancine Peacock Scarborough. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Lee County. She worked for over twenty years at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in the labor and delivery department. Mrs. Burns loved and was willing to help anyone she could. She dearly loved her family and grandchildren and will always be known as a âLoving Motherâ, âCaring Friendâ and âNurturing Healerâ. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her loving husband, William John Burns Sr. and her brother William Dale Scarborough. Survivors include her sons, William Mathew Burns (Veronica) of Leslie, Michael Dean Burns (Heather) of Leesburg; daughters, Ella Vancine Burns of Albany, and Katrina Dawn MacPherran-Barnes (Thomas) of Delavan, WI; and nine grandchildren, Nickkie, Chase, Kenny, Kelsey, Jessica, Madeline, Rachel, Lanee, and Alyssa. The family received friends immediately following the service. Hall and Hall Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
