Mr. Chester Garwood Rogers, 73, of Albany, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010 in Americus. Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Rogers will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Steven Hood will officiate with interment to follow in the Floral Memory Gardens. Born on March 21, 1937 in Albany, Mr. Rogers was the son of the late, L.E. Rogers and Alberta Lewis Rogers. He retired as a building inspector after thirty-two years with the City of Albany. He also worked for many years at Deriso Drug Store in Sylvester. He served his country in the Air Force and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Albany. He enjoyed fishing, crafts and listening to gospel and country music. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his brother, David Rogers. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Rogers; son, Stephen Rogers and wife, April of Albany; daughter, Stephanie Doane and husband, Ronnie of Jesup, GA.; sister, Patricia Clauson and husband, Dave of Cordele; 2 grandchildren, Jaden and Jessica. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
