Mrs. Cora Lou Varney Phillips, 57, of Sylvester, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 21, 2012. The funeral service will be conducted at 12 Noon, Monday, December 24, 2012 at Bethel Holiness Church in Putney. Rev. Noah Phillips, Rev. James Edward Phillips and Rev. William H. Phillips Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Sylvester. Born December 7, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of Carl Varney and Julie White Varney. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother that loved taking care of children. She was a faithful member of Bethel Holiness Church for over twenty-five years and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years, William H. Phillips of Sylvester; mother, Julie White Varney of Villa Park, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. James Edward Phillips of Sylvester; sons, William H. Jr. and Jillian Phillips of Albany, James E. Phillips and Kayla of Albany, James A. Phillips, Dalton L. Phillips, Thomas J. Phillips all of Sylvester; daughters, Sedida A. Hall and Eric of Albany, Ashley N. Phillips of Douglas and Leslie Phillips of Albany; five grandchildren; four brothers, J.B. and Mary Varney of Bolingbrook IL., Gary Varney of Villa Park IL., Roy Varney and Ray Varney both Logan, WV. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Bethel Holiness Church from 6 until 9 p.m. Hall and Hall Funeral of Albany is in charge of the arrangements. 229-883-3864
