Mr. Donald Wayne Smith, 64, of Albany, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at his home while surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2013 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Herman Enfinger will officiate. Interment will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA at 4:00 p.m. with military honors. Born May 29, 1948 in Donalsonville, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Ralph Lynwood Smith and the late Ethel Marie Ingram Smith. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and worked for many years as a fork lift operator with Proctor and Gamble and Flint River Services. He loved to fish and golf and enjoyed watching NASCAR. In his younger years he owned and drove a “Dragster” at the Albany Raceway. Mr. Smith also was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Survivors include his loving wife, Judy McConnell Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Doug Rankin and Pamela of Macon; brother and sister-in-law, Quinn Smith and Janice of Colquitt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Yvonne Whittaker and Edward of Colquitt and Debra Gross and Sonny of Donalsonville; two grandchildren, Jay and Jordan Rankin; and numerous nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends, Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 12 – 1 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Visitation: Saturday, May 18, 2013 12:00 PM
