Dolores Howell

February 21, 1933 — January 27, 2019

Mrs. Dolores Howell, 85, of Worth County, peacefully passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 30, 2019 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Smith and Mr. Gary Coker will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, January 29, 2019 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Howell was born in Cook county on February 21, 1933, to the late James and Mae Hancock. Dolores was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was affectionately known as Mime to family and close friends. She was especially delighted and her eyes glowed when grandchildren and her great-grands dropped in to see her. Mime worked at Coats and Clark, and Miller Brewery, and stayed active in retirement by working part-time for the Worth County Department of Labor office. She truly enjoyed working with flowers and plants in her yard, which she kept meticulously while she enjoyed good health. Mime took great pride in her home’s appearance. She loved her family deeply and was always concerned about the well-being of family and friends. Mime always put family and friends first. She enjoyed monthly supper get togethers with close friends as long as she was able. She was a resident at Golden Apple in Moultrie for the past year, where she enjoyed interaction and activities with staff and fellow residents. The family thanks Golden Apple staff and Colquitt Regional Hospice for their wonderful support. Along with her parents Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee Howell; sister, Carolyn “Cook” Hinson; and grandson, Brian Maloney. Survivors include her children, Cheryl Hendricks (Jim) of Worth county, Lennon Howell (Paula) of Moultrie, and Lee Howell (Michelle) of Leesburg; brother, Jim Hancock (June) of Spartanburg, SC; 8 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
