Don Wayne Cox

Mr. Don Wayne Cox, 74, of Putney, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Providence Health and Rehab in Thomaston.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church in Blakely at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Tim Bass will officiate.

Born on July 21, 1949, in Blakely, Mr. Cox was the son of the late James and Gussie Brookins Cox. He worked as a truck driver for several years in the heating and air business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Putney.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Cox (Diane), Charles Cox, and Larry Cox (Beverly); son-in-law, Christopher King; nephew, Eugene Cox; and special friend, Cathie Snelson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years Margo Cox; daughter, Kamara King of Leesburg; lifelong friend, Jasper Doswell; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
