Mr. Donald Clyde Giddens, 67, of Leesburg, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Michael O’Neal will officiate with interment to follow in the Leesburg Cemetery. Born October 30, 1944 in Ashburn, Mr. Giddens was the son of the late Robert Clyde Giddens and Willie Mae Rutherford Giddens. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era with The Big Red 1. Mr. Giddens retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base with over 25 years of service. Before his health began declining he loved to hunt and fish. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Braswell Giddens; sons, Donald Clyde Giddens II of Leesburg and Robert Reid of Albany; brothers, Jackie Giddens of Albany and Elroy Giddens of Texas; sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Bryant of Leesburg, Sandy Christmas of Tennessee, Margie Rogers and her husband, Alan Rogers of Birmingham, AL, and Jane O’Neal and her husband, Rev. Michael O’Neal. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
