Dorothy Nichols (Nichols) Vick

March 27, 1933 — September 19, 2012

Dorothy Nichols Vick was born in Randolph County, Georgia on March 27, 1933 and was granted her angel wings on September 19, 2012. Her life was defined by her love of family and friends; and her warm and generous nature touched everyone she met. Dorothy accepted Christ as her Savior early in her life and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dawson, Georgia. She graduated from Terrell County High School in 1950. The following year, she married the late George Joiner and went on to give birth to 4 beautiful daughters. Despite her many health concerns, Dorothy remained an optimist; she would put on a brave face and fight her problems like only the Irish can. She loved children and chose a career in childcare. She was always her happiest with a baby in her lap. In later years, Dorothy would end phone calls or letters with the phrase Don't forget to remember me as if anyone could. We will forever remember her. Dorothy is survived by her brother, Nick Nichols of Blakely, Georgia; her daughter, Sandra Mills of Leesburg, Georgia; six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew and the kind staff of Lillian Carter Nursing Center in Plains, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Sandra Joiner, Joyce Mills, Peggy Roberts and Gayle Justice; her parents, Louise Turner and CoyNichols and husbands, George Joiner, Herbert Gaylord and Wallace Vick.
