Doyce Goldsmith Davis, 65, of Albany passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at her home. Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Davis will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Poplar Arbor Church in Sale City with Rev. Brian Keith Marchant officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Born April 19, 1947 in Moultrie, GA, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late James A. Goldsmith and the late Annie Lee Bridges. She graduated from Mitchell County High School and worked as a pharmacy tech at Deriso Drugs in Sylvester. She was the church pianist for over forty years at Poplar Arbor Church and she loved her church dearly. Survivors include her husband, Lee Roy Davis; sons, Jeff and Steve Davis both of Mitchell County; daughters, Monica Davis Paul of North Carolina, Marlena Davis of Albany and Faye (Lorin) Roberts of Dawson; sister, Sylvia Sheffield and her daughter Tiffany Cook; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 – 8 PM at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make contribution to the American Cancer Society.
