Hall and Hall Funeral Home 229-883-3864 Mr. Eddie Wade Smith, 82, of Albany, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Mercedes Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Willis will officiate with interment to follow at 3:30 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery in Ochlocknee. Born August 29, 1931 in Camilla, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Eddie Lawrence Smith and Mary Churchwell Smith. He served his country in the United States Army and worked many years for Meeks Electric as an appliance repairman. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with all his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Smith was a faithful and dedicated member of Mercedes Baptist Church where he had previously served as chairman of the deacon board. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by two brothers, Grady and Arthur Smith. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Mrs. Maria “Irmgard” Smith of Albany; Edith Webb (Jack) of Albany, Marcia Powers (Glenn) of Woodstock Michael Smith (Jan) of Bullock, NC, Andrew Smith (Michele) of Enterprise, AL, David Smith (Mitzi) of Woodstock; brothers, Cecil Smith (Delores) of Ochlocknee, GA, Clarence Smith (Mary Jane) of Ochlocknee, GA and Dewey Smith (Helen) of Houston, TX ; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hall and Hall Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday February 10, 2014.
