Edgar Lee ldquo;Eddrdquo; Banks, 76, of Albany passed away Saturday morning, April 18, 2009 at his home. Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Banks will be conducted Monday, April 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Dr. Charlie Rouse, Rev. Richard Parker and Rev. Chuck Smith will officiate and music will be provided by Wilma Smith and Wanda Story. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. R.E. Brake, Steve Sellers, Herbert Blanchard, Donnie Phillips, Jim Adams, Burl Chesser, Frank Story and Charles Bonnell will serve as active pallbearers. Edgar Lee Banks was born April 29, 1933 in Ino, AL. to the late Edgar L. Banks and Ruth Harrison. He was a charter member and Deacon of Liberty Baptist Church. Mr. Banks retired with over 19 years of service with Albany Lincoln Mercury as a mechanic. He loved his family and friends dearly and had a great love for southern gospel music. In addition to his parents Mr. Banks was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Earl Banks; daughter-in-law, Lora McLeroy Banks; brother, Marcus Paul Banks; and his sister, Lillian Banks Hattaway. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Katie Banks of Albany; son, Stanley Banks and his wife, Emily Fay Banks of Albany; Daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Banks of Pelham; grandsons, Michael David Banks and Stacy and Timothy Ray Tompkins, Sr. and Samantha all of Worth county and granddaughter, Dawn Michelle Hall and her husband, Scott of Albany; seven great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters; father-in-law, Drafus Ezell of Albany; sisters, Caudie Banks Ward Roberts, of Florella, AL and Kathleen Banks Thorn of Ino, AL nbsp;and several nieces and nephews. nbsp;
