Elmer Rogers Martin

Mr. Elmer Rogers Martin, 87, of Albany, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Palmyra Nursing Home. Graveside services will be conduced at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 28, 2011 at the graveside of Crown Hill Cemetery. The Reverend Frank Hughes will officiate. Mr. Martin was born January 26, 1924 in Blakely, son of the late Fred Martin and Rosa Shepherd Martin. He served his country in the Marines and worked for many years at Martin Custom Kitchens. Mr. Martin was a member of South Side Baptist Church of Albany. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy Nell Martin; son, Harry Martin of Albany; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Brown and Tony of Leesburg; brothers, Ambrose Martin and Allen Martin both of Donaldsonville; sister, Evelyn McCormick; two grandchildren, Anthony Brown of Leesburg and Aaron Martin of Pendleton, IN; two great-grandchildren, Mirissa Martin and Addison Martin.
