Mr. Elvis C. Newell, 91, of Albany, peacefully passed away on May 27, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday evening at the funeral home, from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Following the funeral service, he will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery. Elvis was born on February 3, 1928, in Worth County to the late Dan and Janie Newell. He retired after many years as a car salesman. Elvis loved and lived life to the fullest, and one of his favorite things to do was dance. You could find him almost every Friday night at the VFW dancing and until last year, he was still driving himself to go dance. He also enjoyed working in the yard, working in his pecan grove, and being on his tractor. Mr. Newell adored his grand babies and great grandbabies and loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two children, Lee Newell and Aloha Young; and four siblings. Survivors include his daughter, Iris King; four grandchildren, Amber Young, Justin Young, Shannon Newell, and Brandon King; three sisters, Glenda Higgs, Faye Calhoun, and Carol Cox; brother, Roy Newell; five great grandchildren, and a host of extended family members. Hall and Hall Funeral Home was given the honor to serve the Newell family.
