Ernest Luther Allen

November 10, 1918 — February 11, 2014

Mr. Ernest Luther Allen, 95, of Dawson, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at his home while surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the Chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home, 324 South Mock Road Albany, GA. 31705. Pastor Ralph Horne and Grandsons, Rev. Leon Johns and Rev. Scott Crook will officiate with interment to follow at Floral Memory Gardens. Born November 10, 1918 in Temple, GA, Mr. Allen was the son of the late George Allen and Elfie Chance Allen. He was a World War Two Veteran that served in the Army. He was very proud of his time in the service and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Mr. Allen was a faithful member of the Liberty Parkway Church of God. In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Womack Allen and beloved daughter, Annette Crook; one grandson and one great-grandson. Survivors include his daughters, Norma and Lee Coxwell of Sasser, Alice and Monty Montgomery of Roanoke, VA, Sandra and Larry Holloway of Dawson and Tina and Wayne King of Hogansville; son-in-law, Jack Crook of LaGrange; grandchildren, Nita and Rev. Leon Johns, Joanie and Chris Blanks, Scott and Angela Crook and Melissa and Ronnie Brazil all of LaGrange, Cristal and Jimmy Godfrey of West Point; Carrie Ann Fletcher of Columbus, Stacy Strickland of Hamilton; Jason and Shelley Garmon of Biloxi, MS, Becky and Andy Way of Troutville, VA, Shelly and Sandy Parker and Jessica and Nick Elmer all of Leesburg, Glenn and Laura Holloway of Orrtana, PA, Andy and Melissa Coxwell, David and Hillary King all of Bradenton, FL, Kurt and Denise Montgomery of Callaway, VA, Kelli and Phil Harrell of Salem, VA; 40 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Seals of Villa Rica and Agnes Lamanack. The family will receive friends at Hall and Hall Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2014.
