Evelyn Irene Hicks

Mrs. Evelyn Irene Hicks, 92, of Albany, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Born December 23, 1929, in Roanoke, VA, Mrs. Hicks was the daughter of the late Terry Willis and Alley Eura Shanfield. She worked at Belk for a short period of time but was most proud to care for her family as a loving homemaker. She was a proud military wife who loved our country and supported her husband during his time in The Marine Corps. She enjoyed reading, playing piano, and loved flowers. She also greatly enjoyed watching Dr. Charles Stanley and was Baptist by faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her beloved husband, GySgt. Ralph Frederick Hicks, USMC that passed away on October 14, 2020. Survivors include her two daughters, Domeka Hicks of Albany, and Terrika Brantley of Augusta; grandchildren, Terry Brantley of Augusta, Jared Brantley and Ashley of Cummings, GA, and Travis Brantley and Dana of Augusta; and several great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2022, at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2022, in Floral Memory Gardens with Rev. Matthew Harrell officiating.
