Frances Odell Christmas, 93, of Leesburg and formerly of Shellman, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Sumner City Cemetery. Born December 26, 1928, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Hawkins and Frances Poole Hawkins. Mrs. Christmas was a talented seamstress who loved to sew and was of the Baptist faith. She was a wonderful cook and always made sure she had something ready to eat for those coming to visit. One of the greatest pleasures in her life was watching her loved ones enjoy the meals she prepared with so much love. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Eugene Christmas; son, Franklin Eugene Christmas; and six siblings. Survivors include her son, Larry Christmas and his wife Dianne of Leesburg; sister, Evelyn Hawkins of Moultrie; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family that loved her dearly. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Christmas Hall and Hall Funeral Home was given the honor to serve the Christmas family.
