Saturday, May 25, 2013 Franklin Eugene “Gene” Christmas, Sr., 66, of Shellman, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at Willson Hospice House in Albany. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, May 27, 2013 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Sumner City Cemetery. The Rev. Eddie Dee will officiate. A native of Moultrie, Mr. Christmas had lived in Shellman for most of his life. He was in construction and was a millwright as well as a welder. Mr. Christmas was an avid race car fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Carson Eugene Christmas; and two sons: Franklin Eugene Christmas, Jr. and Franklin Brian Christmas. Mr. Christmas is survived by his mother, Francis Odele Christmas; three sons, Larry E. Christmas and his wife Patricia of Albany; David Christmas and is wife Jamie of Fulton, NY; and Wayne Kennedy of Raleigh, NC; three daughters, Ann Christmas of NH; Angela Bullard and her husband Chris of Tifton; and Phyllis Howell and her husband Randy of Valdosta; and one brother, Larry N. Christmas and his wife Dianne of Leesburg; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 PM until the funeral hour.
