Franklin L Jones

Franklin L. Jones El Paso – Franklin L. Jones, 85, of Albany, Ga, formerly of El Paso, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at his home in Albany, Ga. At the request of Mr. Jones, his remains have been cremated. A private family service will be held at a later date. Frank was born February 2, 1930 in EL Paso, IL the son of Louis and Mabel (Zea) Jones. He married Marjorie Smith July 10, 1949 and together they had three daughters. On June 9, 1980 he married Lou ‘’Angel” Goodspeed in Albany, Ga. Surviving are his daughters, Glenda (Harold) Reese, Mackinaw, Suzanne (Curt) Heilbenthal, Chattanooga, TN, and Connie (Tom) Stauter, Bloomington; Niece, Judy Schlueter, Bloomington, Nephew David Carrithers; nine grandchildren, David (Kim) Wagner, Brandy Reese, Bryan (Christina) Wagnr, Eric (Carmen) Reese, Emily (David) Barker, Jacob (Christina) Wanger, Jennifer (Josh) Snodgrass, Jeffrey (Julie) Stauter, and Kristin Stauter: seventeen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Angel, and sister Mary Carrithers. Frank was a natural entrepreneur, opening a Phillips 66 Gas station, Laundromat, drug store and camping ground in El Paso where he also served two terms as city clerk and two terms Mayor. Frank enjoyed building model trains, woodworking and American History. Memorials may be made to the El Paso Public Library.
