Mr. Freddie Paul Smith, 67, of Albany, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday January 18, 2014 at Sunnyside Baptist Church. Pastor Terry Siniard and Revered Bobby Moye will officiate with interment to follow at 2:00 PM (CST) at Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan, AL. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 Friday evening at the funeral home. Born July 11, 1946 in Lake Wales, FL, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Riley Smith and Colline Watson Smith. He was the owner of Lock-Smith Services of Albany and was a devoted husband and father who was a good provider. He was a faithful member and deacon of Sunnyside Baptist Church where he was former Sunday school director, leader of the men's ministry and was a member of the choir. He loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart and was ready to meet him at anytime. It has been said by his family and others that he preached his own funeral well and his passing is another reason to look forward to Heaven. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his daughter Freida Smith and brother, Bobby Smith. Survivors include his loving wife, Sara Alley Smith of Albany; daughter and son-in-law, Felicia and Chris Cartmell of Albany; brothers, Davey and Melissa Meredith of Dothan, AL and Gary Smith of Warner Robins, GA.; sister-in -law, Linda Smith and one grandson, Andrew Cartmell.
