Gail Prather (Kapcar) Allen

March 21, 1952 — December 1, 2011

Mrs. Gail Prather Allen, 59, of Albany, passed away, Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2011 at Gillionville Baptist Church with internment to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Dr. W. A. “Billy” Smith will officiate. Brian Polson, Ryan Jackson, Ted Suhl, Dr. Mark Brown, Don Cooper, and Randy Cline will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Mrs. Allen was born March 21, 1952 in Bridgeport, CT., daughter of the late Andrew Kapcar and Nancy Butterfield Kapcar. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Prather. Mrs. Allen worked as a communications officer for the city of Albany for the last fourteen years. She was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church, Women of Faith Sunday School Class and the Golden Angels. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Steven Allen; brother, Paul Kapcar of Atlanta; sister, Linda Polson of Durham, NC; nephews, Brian Polson, Kevin Polson, Ryan Jackson, and Troit Prather; nieces, Brandi Lucas, Carrie Lokey, Jennifer Thraikill-Leonard, Emma Eubanks, and Rosie Eubanks. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
