Mr. George “Alvin” Harden, 76, of Albany, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, June 8, 2020, at his home. Mr. Alvin will lie in state at Hall & Hall Funeral Home on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 9:00a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to visit and pay their respects. Alvin was born August 19, 1944, in Miller County to the late George and Mamie Lee Harden. He was a skilled and talented business owner who owned and operated Alvin’s Tree Service in Albany for 48 years. He was dedicated to working hard but when he wasn’t working, Alvin enjoyed going to the lake, traveling, and vacations with the people who meant the most to him. Above all, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He loved Chevrolets, driving fast, and didn’t approve of his family members driving anything other than a Chevy. Alvin was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Darren Harden; and his siblings, Thomas Harden, Betty Harden, Joann Harden, and Laverne Richardson. Survivors include his children, Richard Darren Harden and his wife Angie of Sylvester, Sharon Renee Harden of Albany, and Ronald Eugene Harden of Albany; nine grandchildren, Courtney, James, Rachel, Shanay, Chris, Bo, Brittney, Emily, and John; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Amy, Sarah, and Gloria Jean. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made to the funeral home to help cover costs of the services. Hall & Hall Funeral Home was given the honor to serve the Harden family.
