George Reed

George Harold Reed, 76, of Albany passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Palmyra Nursing Home. Services honoring the life of Mr. Reed will be conducted Friday, August 14, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with Military Honors. George Harold Reed was born May 6, 1933 in Blairsville, GA to the late Dewitt Reed and Nellie Field Reed. He served in the Marines, worked as a barber for many years and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his ex-wife whom he remained close to, Barbara Hurst Reed of Albany; sons, Russell Reed of Albany, Bobby and his wife, Annza of Leesburg; daughter, Teresa and Larry Clark of Albany; four grandchildren, Chad Clark, Tara Clark, Grayson Reed and Rachel Reed; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Reed; sister-in-law, Helen Hurst; nephews Billy Ray Green and Dale Reed; several other nieces, nephews and close friends.
