Glenda Jane (Holman) Smith

November 17, 1935 — October 20, 2011

Mrs. Glenda Jane Smith, 75, of Albany, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in the Chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Robin Chaplin will officiate. Interment and Graveside service will follow on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville, TN. Born November 17, 1935 in Russellville, KY, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Forrest Daniel Holman and Roberta Pauline Day Holman. Residing most of her young life in Nashville, TN, where she spent many good times with her sisters visiting the Historic Ryman Auditorium, home of the Grand Ole Opry and meeting many Country Music Legends we know today. She was a true Country Music fan and enjoyed watching the Grand Ole Opry show as well as other Country Music Shows. Mrs. Smith was married to the late Hugh D. Smith and she worked hard to help her loving husband provide for their family. She loved gardening where she and Hugh enjoyed watching and feeding the wild birds. She loved following the Atlanta Braves, and was quick to give her opinion of how they were playing. She was a big golf fan too. Mrs. Smith was an avid bowler in her younger years and won several Local and State WBC Titles. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wonderful friend. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen (Jeff) Macy of Casper WY, Sharon (Jim) Corbett of Albany; her sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin (Pam) Smith of Monroe, GA, Keith (Jackie) Smith of Canton, GA; grandchildren, LTJG Jeffry Macy II, Brandon Macy, Meaghan Macy, Kyle Macy, Melissa Smith, Mark Smith, Martin Dollar, Devin Smith, Cheyenne Smith, Cierra Smith, Marenda Smith and Kella Smith Fearnow; great-grandchildren, Jack Macy, Maddox Macy, Tanner Macy, Ryder Macy, Billy Hines, Landan Smith, Gabriel Taylor, Trenton Smith, Blaine Dollar, Braleigh Dollar, Brady Fearnow, Tyler Smith; sisters, Jean Vaden and Patsy Walling both of Nashville, TN. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 25 from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
