Green Lee 'G.L.' Humphries

Mr. Green Lee Humphries, 73, of Albany, passed away, Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Dr. Charlie Rouse will officiate with entombment to follow in the Crown Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Mr. Humphries was born on September 24, 1938, son of the late Clinton Humphries and the late Susie Palmer Humphries. He served his country in The US Coast Guard and worked for several years at DoLee Rental in maintenance. He enjoyed fishing and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Mr. Humphries was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Albany. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-one years, Miriam Taylor Humphries; children, Lisa and Tim Carter of Leesburg, Cynthia Humphries Pope of Charlotte, NC, and Paul Humphries of Isle of Palms, SC; brothers, Hulon and Emma Humphries of Luling, LA and Charles and Diane Humphries of Camilla; sisters, Christine Willis of Pelham, Jewel and Lester Singleton of Climax, Jeanette and Donald Shiver of Camilla, Mary Sue and Shelby Hickey of Pelham and Connie Mayer of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren, Landon Carter and Devan Pope; several nieces and nephews.
