Gwendolyn "Gwen" Maxine Tuten

March 12, 1976 — August 16, 2024

Mrs. Gwendolyn “Gwen” Maxine Tuten, 48, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024.

A memorial service honoring her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral home with friends and family sharing their favorite memories of her. After the service the family will receive friends at her daughter’s home, 1628 Porters Corner Road in Sylvester.

Born March 12, 1976, in Albany, she was the daughter of the late George Mixon Kelly and Sandra Kay McCray. Gwen worked for many years as a warehouse manager in Albany. In her free time, she enjoyed kayaking and painting. She had the kindest heart and was always doing things for others. At Christmas Gwen always made sure to adopt families and children, making sure those going without always had gifts under the tree, she donated blankets to animal shelters, worked at food drives for the hungry, and went above and beyond for those in need. She had a servant’s heart and it showed in all of her many acts of kindness. Gwen was known as a wonderful mother and even though she had her own, she adopted many children and grandchildren along the way and was affectionately known as “Mama Gwen” by many. A loving wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved son, TJ Tuten, her sister, Christina Kelly, brother, Christopher Kelly, and special fur baby, Marley.

Those left to Cherish her memory include her husband, Tommy Tuten; her children, Josh Kyser, Kassandra Tuten, Katherin Pate (Mitchell), Diana Tuten, Sabrina McKendree (Eric Ragan), and Josh Holley (Alexis Brooks); grandchildren, Mitchell, Daniel, Harrison, Felicity, and soon to be born Ires; siblings, Samantha High, Curtis Kelly, Fran Keller, and Ann Mims; and a host of extended family members and friends that loved her dearly.

Hall and Hall Funeral Home was given the honor to serve the Tuten family.
