Mr. Ralph Frederick Hicks, 90, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Willson Hospice House. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 16, 2020, at Floral Memory Gardens. The family will greet with friends following the service. Rev. Terry Siniard will officiate. Born February 14, 1930, in Portsmouth, OH, he was the son of the late Roy and Bursa Hicks. Mr. Hicks proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps where he retired as a Gunnery Sgt after 20 years of faithful and honorable service. He later retired civil service from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and active in a number of Masonic organizations. He served as a 32-degree Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner, and was a member of Lodge No. 24 in Albany. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Hicks will be greatly missed by all. Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 73 years, Evelyn Willis Hicks of Albany; two daughters, Domeka Hicks of Albany, and Terrika Brantley (Lee) of Groveland; grandchildren, Terry Brantley, Jared Brantley (Ashley), and Travis Brantley (Dana); great-grandchildren, Ethan, Benjamin, Hannah, Corrine, Caroline, Cameron, and Sarah; and his beloved dog, Abby.
