Mrs. Hazel Elizabeth Hardy, 92, of Albany, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at Dawson Health and Rehabilitation. The graveside service honoring the life of Mrs. Hardy will held at 11 AM Friday, May 10, 2013 at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens, GA with Rev. Ray Wuerzer officiating. A native of Oglethorpe County, GA, she was born on June 4, 1920 to Charlie Ross and Fannie Praither Ross. Mrs. Hardy had lived in Athens until 1990 before moving to Albany. She was a charter member of East Athens Baptist Church and a member of Sherwood Baptist Church, Albany. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” N. Hardy. She is survived by two sons: David A. Hardy and his wife Julie of Lee County, and Joe Hardy, Jr. and his wife Carla of Fort Worth, TX; two granddaughters, Leigh Hardy and Tanya Mallow. The family will be at the residence of David and Julie Hardy, 155 Longleaf Dr., Leesburg, GA.
