Mr. James Allen Fannin, 93, of Albany, passed away, Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Floral Memory Gardens with the Rev. Terry Siniard officiating. Born on March 18, 1921, Mr. Fannin was the son of the late Sterling Lee and Early Aileen Seagrest Fannin. As well as, retiring from the State Highway Department of Georgia, Mr. Fannin retired from the US Army and Air Force serving in WWII, The Korean, and Vietnam Wars. He belonged to the Enlisted Association and was a lifetime member of the DAV, Disabled American Veterans. He was a faithful member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Charlotte Fannin of Albany; son, James H. Fannin (Elaine) of Leesburg; grandchildren, Kimberly Stewart (Gary) of Sylvester and Eddie Fannin (Kristie) of Thibodaux, LA, and great-grandchildren, Jennifer Stewart, Logan Fannin, and Lilyanna Fannin. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
