James Elliott Iii

GySgt James Malcolm Elliott, III, 71, of Albany, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate with interment to follow at Floral Memory Gardens. Full Military Honors will be presented. Born December 4, 1944 in Alexandria, VA, Mr. Elliott was the son of the late James Malcolm Elliott, Jr. and Mettie Garten Elliott. He proudly served his country and retired from the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Elliott also retired from civil service at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed motorcycles and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth “Joan” Simmons Elliott; son, Steven James Elliott of Albany; brother, Albert “Bud” Elliott and sister, Barbara Wood. The family will receive friends at Hall and Hall Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2016.
