James Chester Hancock, 75, of Albany passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Americus. Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Hancock were conducted Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Keith Smith officiated with interment following at Floral Memory Gardens.nbsp;Ricky Hamilton, Ricky McDonald, Kenny Varner, Will Raines, Gray Roland and Tabb Godfrey served as active pallbearers. James Chester Hancock was born July 27, 1933 in Berrien County to the late James Shelley Hancock and Susie Welch Hancock. Mr. Hancock was a farmer for many years and was known as a handyman that could fix almost anything. He was of the Church of God faith and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. In addition to his parents Mr. Hancock was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Glenn, J.S, Clifford, Junior, Hayward and Rayford; 3 sisters, Bessie Lee Eubanks, Millie Purvis and Janie Mae Davis and one grandson, Jamie Lynn Hancock. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Betty Jean Hancock of Albany; sons, Larry James Hancock and his wife, Shirley, of Albany and Jimmy William Hancock and his wife, Caroline of Colquitt; daughters, Carol Coutu and her husband, Ron, of Atlanta, Brenda Jackson and her husband, Danny of Leesburg, Annette Johnson and Bridgett Hancock of Albany; sisters, Christine Gray, and Flonnie Bell Warren; grandchildren, Matthew Coutu and Brandon Coutu of Atlanta, Scott Johnson of Sumner, Thomas Jackson of Leesburg, Michael Kierce, Jr. and Morgan Kierce of Leesburg, Melissa Hancock, Michael Blackshear and Alicia Lunsford all of Albany. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;
