James Mills Dent

Mr. James Mills Dent, 78, of Albany, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. Born November 3, 1933 in Soperton, Mr. Dent was the son of the late James Melvin Dent and the late Lois Mills Dent. He proudly served his country in the Navy and worked for many years as a supervisor with SW Plaster and Drywall. He enjoyed watching football, baseball and liked hunting. He was Baptist by faith and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dent was preceded in death by his brother, Benny David Dent. Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Marilyn White Dent; daughter, Cathy and Dale Hubbard of Mitchell County; sons, James Douglas and Tracey Dent of Mitchell County, William Donald Dent of Albany and Jesse and Sarah Dent of Waleska, GA; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and close cousins. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
