Jean Edwards Pye

Mrs. Jean Edwards Pye, 85, of Albany, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 26, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Acree. Rev. Gary Hadden and Rev. Neal Hager will officiate with interment to follow at Floral Memory Gardens. Born October 22, 1932 in Early County, GA, Mrs. Pye was the daughter of the late Jack and Elizabeth Thompson Edwards. She was a loving and caring homemaker who loved her family. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Acree since 1965 and was very active with the G.A’s, WMU and the youth of the church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pye was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Pye and her brother, Bobby L. Edwards. Survivors include her children, Faye Harting of Warrensburg, MO, Mary Helen Edwards of Jakin, GA, Mylinda White of Blakely, GA and Darlene Volkert of Eustis, FL.; brother, John Larry Edwards of Blakely and sister, Helen Patricia James of Warrensburg, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries, 9420 Blackshear Hwy, Baxley, GA 31513.
