Mr. Jimmy Howard Mathis, 76, of Albany, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at Phoebe North Campus. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Robin Chaplin will officiate with interment to follow in the Riverside Cemetery. Born June 28, 1940 in Black, AL, Mr. Mathis was the son of the late Raz and Mary Mathis. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and retired from Moore’s Business Forms. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His family was most important to him and he was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mathis was preceded in death by his son, David Howard Mathis. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Parrish Mathis; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Pamela Mathis of Columbus, Jimmy Ray and Karen Mathis of Cataula and Warren Burk of Hawaii; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Spencer Paul of Albany, Janie and Dwayne Harrell of Worth County, Ann Holmes of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Mary Nell Young of Seattle, Washington; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.hallandhallfuneralhome.com.
