Mr. Jimmy Richard Hollis, 78, of Albany, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 30, 2013 at New Park Cemetery in Fort Gaines, GA. Born August 4, 1935 in Dothan, AL, Mr. Hollis was the son of the late Tullie Hollis and the late Tommie Richards. He was a self-employed truck driver for many years, was a member of the Moose Lodge and The Deep South Coon Hunters Club. He was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Survivors include his wife, June Hollis; sons, Tim Hollis of Leesburg and Gary (Kathy) Clark of Buck Hill Falls PA; daughter, Carolyn (JohRay) Stout of Bluffton, GA.; brothers, Tullie (Betty) Hollis Alabaster, AL. and Gerald (Linda) Hollis Dothan; two grandchildren, James (Krystye) Hollis of Leesburg and Mary Hollis of Atlanta; one great-grandchild, Jonah Hollis and several very special red bone coon dogs. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hollis was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Earl Hollis. The family will receive friends at their home at 2301 Sanborn Ave. Albany, GA. 31705.
