Joan Florence (Smith ) Pitts

Mrs. Joan Florence Pitts, 82, of Albany, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Albany. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2014 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Ralph Horne will officiate with interment to follow in the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt County. Born July 8, 1931 in Brooklyn NY, Mrs. Pitts was the daughter of the late Jacob Smith and Florence Smith. She was a homemaker and loved all her family dearly. She enjoyed arts and crafts and shopping. She was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pitts was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Pitts and two twin sons, Ron and Don. Survivors include her daughters, Jamie and Marty Gray of Sylvester and Janine and Jimmy Deese of Albany; sister, Patty Smith of New York; grandson, Shannon Wood and his wife, Georgie; three great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Skylar and Jayden. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
