John Edward Roberts

Mr. John Edward Roberts, 63, of Leesburg, passed away, Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson. Rev. Rodney Hudson will officiate. Born December 1, 1951 in Randolph County, GA, Mr. Roberts was the son of the late Alex Roberts, Sr. and Ruby Jones Roberts. Mr. Roberts worked for many years with Peerless Manufacturing in farming maintenance. He loved the outdoors including bird and squirrel watching. He also greatly enjoyed watching old westerns, going fishing and was a NASCAR fan. His love for his entire family especially his grandchildren will forever be cherished. In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Gaylord Roberts that passed away on August 27, 2007. Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-laws, John and Jennifer Roberts of Leesburg, Joey and Missy Roberts of Leesburg and James Roberts of Albany; daughter, Sabrina Roberts and Mike of Dawson; brothers and sister-in-laws, Alex Roberts, Jr. and Sue of Dawson, Ernest Roberts and Sonya of Leesburg, Daniel Roberts and Tina of Leslie, Lorin Roberts and Faye of Parrott; sisters and brother-in-laws, Erline Causey of Leesburg, Gloria Hudson and Rodney of Americus, Martha Barfield of Leesburg, Joyce Hammack and Joe of Leesburg and Kathy Hayes of Dawson; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Hall and Hall Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2015.
