Joseph Benjamin Rowe

Mr. Joseph Benjamin Rowe, 86, of Albany, passed away, Monday, February 20, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2012 at Mercedes Baptist Church, 2623 Moultrie Road. Albany, GA. 31705. Reverends Russel Anglin and Jerry E. Willis will officiate with interment to follow at Floral Memory Gardens in Albany. A resident of Albany since 1955, he was known to his family and friends as J.B. He served in the armed forces during World War II as a Naval seaman. he retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company where he worked as a maintenance machinist for 17 years. A faithful member of Mercedes Baptist Church, J.B. generously gave of his talents and was a faithful example for all. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia Alderman Rowe; son and daughter-in-law, Duane Rowe and Melody of Chesapeake, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Carol Rowe Allen and Terry of Albany; grandchildren, Christopher Rowe of Tallahassee, FL, Holly Allen Gurr (Chris), Amanda Smith (Mark), Traci Allen Hagadone (Travis) of Albany and Brent Rowe (Cari) of Portsmouth, VA; great-grandchildren, Chandler Rowe, Hunter Liticker, Trenton and Dalton Hagadone, Skylar and Lilly Gurr, and Clayton Rowe. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
